About Dr. Lytle
Dr. Lytle is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with degrees in both medicine and dentistry. Upon completion of his undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California, he attended the University of Southern California School of Medicine, where he obtained his MD. Following an internship at Los Angeles County Medical Center, he attended the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. Dr. Lytle completed his post-graduate residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center.
Expertise in Dental Implants
Over the past two decades, Dr. Lytle has placed thousands of dental implants for patients of all ages and as a result, the practice has become one of the largest surgical implant practices in Southern California. Dr. Lytle has a particular interest in helping patients that need complete tooth replacement and has recently focused his practice more in this direction, including the All-on-4 treatment concept and Zygomatic implants.
Dr. Lytle also serves as a mentor and instructor for young residents through the prestigious Osseointegration Foundation, which fosters the highest standards of research and education in implant dentistry. He recently completed a training program for residents from Howard University in Washington, DC.
Together with his partners in the practice, Dr. Lytle has been instrumental in providing highly advanced continuing education programs for the local dental community on all aspects of dental implant treatment and procedures. As an authority on dental implant reconstruction, he enjoys sharing his expertise with colleagues in study clubs and dental meetings.
Leadership in the Dental Profession
Dr. Lytle has contributed to his specialty in a number of ways, including serving as the Director of Undergraduate Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Southern California. He currently teaches anesthesia and medicine to the USC Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residents, including live surgery. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a former examiner for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, helping to advance the specialty through board certification. As a Board Examiner, Dr. Lytle's area of focus was anesthesia.
He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the Academy of Osseointegration, a multi-disciplinary association dedicated exclusively to the field of implant dentistry. Dr. Lytle has served in leadership positions in many organizations, such as the Board of Directors and former President of the California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a Delegate from the State of California to the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, as well as a member of the Advisory Board of the Institute for Dental Implant Awareness.
