About Dr. Taylor

Dr. Taylor is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, with degrees in both medicine and dentistry.  He received his bachelor’s degree from Wichita State University, his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from The University of Missouri, Kansas City, and his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Northeastern Ohio University. He received his General Surgery training at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio and completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.

Academic Appointments, Presentations & Publications

Throughout his professional career, Dr. Taylor has been involved in the education and training of surgical residents.  He has held academic appointments at The University of Nebraska, The University of Texas, Case Western University, Louisiana State University Hospitals, and Loma Linda University.  He has also been actively involved with the teaching of residents and postgraduate training fellows in the field of maxillofacial surgery as well as facial cosmetic surgery.

Dr. Taylor is an internationally recognized lecturer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as well as Facial Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Taylor has presented before numerous national and international professional meetings on the subjects of facial cosmetic surgery, facial injuries, permanent tooth replacement with dental implants, and the surgical correction of congenital and acquired facial deformities.  He has also authored numerous textbook chapters and articles in the scientific surgical literature.

Leadership in the Surgical Profession

Dr. Taylor is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery and has served as an examiner for both Specialty Boards. He was elected President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery at The Academy’s 19th Annual Scientific Meeting.  In his role as President of the AACS, he appeared on nationally syndicated television programs including Dateline NBC, the Oprah Winfrey Show, and as a guest of Dianne Sawyer on an installment of ABC’s 20/20 focusing on cosmetic surgery.

Community and Family

In addition to helping patients at his surgical center with their healthcare needs, he also participates in charity and pro bono work, including helping children born with congenital deformities such as cleft lips and cleft palates.

Married and the father of 2 grown children, Dr. Taylor is an avid outdoorsman who maintains an active lifestyle, whether he's fly fishing in Montana's Big Sky country or cycling through the shimmering Coachella Valley.
