About Dr. Nellen
Dr. Ronald H. Nellen is a Board-Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who has maintained a successful surgical and dental implant practice in the greater Milwaukee, Wisconsin area for more than 20 years. Dr. Nellen was born and raised in Milwaukee; so, it was natural for him to begin his formal education and training by attending the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, where he earned his undergraduate degree. Dr. Nellen went on to dental school, graduating "Cum Laude" from Marquette University with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. After dental school, he was honored to be accepted to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency program at the distinguished Mayo Clinic and Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota, where he completed his surgical residency. Following the completion of his surgical residency, Dr. Nellen went on to become a founding partner-surgeon of Oral Surgery Consultants.

Dr. Nellen is both an active leader and learner in oral and maxillofacial surgery, as well as surgical dental implant therapy. He regularly seeks out and participates in professional continuing education opportunities regarding the most advanced, evidence-based surgical techniques available. The ultimate goal of participating in these numerous programs is to provide his patients with the utmost of quality services available in oral and maxillofacial care today. Dr. Nellen is an advocate for the numerous benefits of dental implant therapy for his patients with a missing tooth or teeth. He regularly recommends and implements dental implant surgery and the associated therapies to restore his patient’s smiles, overall health, and sense of well-being.
Leadership in the Dental Profession
Dr. Nellen is humbled to be frequently invited to speak as a guest lecturer at the local, state and national levels; often presenting on many specialty topics such as incorporating dental implant therapy into patient’s comprehensive oral rehabilitative treatment plans, surgical techniques in oral and facial reconstruction, treatment options for sleep apnea, and the diagnosis of and treatment for oral and maxillofacial pathologies.
While Dr. Nellen has served in many professional capacities locally, regionally and nationally, he is the current President of the Waukesha County Dental Association and an active board member of the association’s Ethics Committee. He is also the current Chairman of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, as well as a prestigious Fellow of both the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Nellen has also been honored to be selected for and maintains membership in the Milwaukee Odontologic Society, Alpha Sigma Nu National Jesuit Honor Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, and the International Honor Dental organization, Pierre Fauchard Academy.
