Aboout Dr. Zoghby

Dr. Gregory M. Zoghby was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and earned his DDS degree from the State University of New York in Buffalo, NY. In 1990, Dr. Zoghby received his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Certification from Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia. In 1993, Dr. Zoghby joined our Practice.

Expertise in Dental Implants

Since Dr. Zoghby began placing implants some 15 years ago, he has not only helped hundreds of patients restore both their dental function and oral health but, as a part-time Associate Professor at the Medical College of Virginia VCU Dental School since 1986, he has been sharing his techniques with upcoming dental professionals and oral surgery residents. His interest in dental implants dates back to dental school, where his academic research focused on bone metabolism, which is an integral facet of successful dental implant placement. This early interest motivated him to enroll in Branemark's original implant placement course.

Along with his Commonwealth Oral & Facial Surgery partners, Dr. Zoghby hosts an implant study club to educate the Richmond dental community on the most current technologies and techniques in the field. He has presented lectures at these meetings, sharing his knowledge on a variety of topics related to dental implant reconstruction. He also participates in a small local academic study club that centers on coordinated implant treatment among specialists. Dr. Zoghby has a special interest in dental implants for orthodontic anchorage and has attended special training in orthodontic implant ue at the University of North Carolina.

Leadership in the Dental Profession

Dr. Zoghby is a part-time Assistant Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University's School of Dentistry.  He has donated his skills to the Crossover Dental Clinic, Donated Dental Services, and the Children’s Hospital Program. He also travels to Jamaica on a yearly basis to offer his professional services to the Jamaica Mission Trip which is sponsored by Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia.

In 2012, Dr. Zoghby was honored to be named one of the top Oral Surgeons by “Richmond Magazine” and in 2013 was voted one of Virginia's Best Dentists by “Virginia Living Magazine.“  He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.

His loves are his family, music, art, rock climbing, and the theater. He has a special interest in bicycling. Dr. Zoghby was recently in France to see the Tour De France bicycle race and is a member of a bicycling team called the Spin Doctors.
