About Dr. Schwartz
Dr. Schwartz is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He received his undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado and his postgraduate education at Northwestern University Dental School, graduating first in his class. Dr. Schwartz was an assistant resident in the Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has been practicing in the Baltimore area since 1985. Baltimore Magazine has noted him numerous times as one of the area’s outstanding oral and maxillofacial surgeons.
Expertise in Dental Implants
Actively involved in implant dentistry since 1990, Dr. Schwartz has placed dental implants for thousands of patients of all ages and has become a nationally recognized specialist in this highly technical area of dentistry. Dr. Schwartz is also a member of an elite group of the largest dental implant practices in the country. His extensive experience in surgical dental implant placement and bone grafting has earned the respect of colleagues nationwide. Dr. Schwartz is also involved in providing continuing education for the local dental community on the latest techniques in implant dentistry.
Dr. Schwartz is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, as well as Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and Fellow of the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a member of numerous other professional organizations including the American Dental Association, the Middle Atlantic Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Maryland State Dental Association, and the Institute for Dental Implant Awareness.
Educating Colleagues & Medical Research
As an assistant professor of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, Dr. Schwartz trained residents in all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has also served as the principal investigator in numerous research studies involving the development of pain medications.
Community and Family
Dr. Schwartz and his wife Elisa have two sons, Ryan and Evan. When he is not practicing oral surgery, he enjoys spending time with his family, boating, wine tasting, playing tennis and skiing. Dr. Schwartz is committed to community service and is currently on the board of the Maryland Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
