About Dr. Wendelken
Dr. Wendelken graduated, with distinction, from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center with his degree in dentistry and one year of residency training in 2004. He continued his education and internship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and his residency in oral & maxillofacial surgery at the University of Oklahoma HSC where he served on the Center Resident Council and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center Resident Council. He received his certificate of completion in 2009 after performing over 1500 cases in a variety of procedures in the clinic, and over 500 cases in the operating room.
While in school, he received many honorary appointments and awards including the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Award for Scholastic Merit and was inducted into the Pediatric Dental Honor Society.
Leadership in the Profession
In addition to his full time practice, he is also an Associate Clinical Professor for the University of Oklahoma’s Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He lectures nationally on various oral surgery topics and has published articles in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Journal of Investigative Surgery.
Currently, he maintains memberships in several professional organizations including the American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and the America Society of Dental Anesthesiologists. His certifications include Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
Community and Family
Keeping dentistry a family affair, his wife Lara is a General Dentist. They are parents to two daughters. He and his wife both love to travel and enjoy outdoor activities.
