About Dr. Miller
Dr. Miller has been in private practice in Irvine, California since 1983. He received his Bachelors degree in Biology from the University of California at Irvine, and then entered dental school at UCLA, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Following a one year General Practice Residency, Dr. Miller completed his Periodontal Residency at the V.A. Medical Center in West Los Angeles. During his residency he also served as a clinical instructor in Periodontics at the UCLA School of Dentistry.
Leadership in the Profession
Dr. Miller has been a contributing editor for The Journal of the Western Society of Periodontology and has served as a periodontal consultant for the Las Vegas V.A. outpatient clinic. He is committed to continuing education and has completed over 4,000 hours over the past 25 years in all aspects of dental implant treatment and Periodontal therapy.
As part of this commitment to education, Dr. Miller and his partner, Dr. Bounds have organized and provided numerous educational programs for the local dental community, including a study club on advanced interdisciplinary treatment planning and the latest techniques in implant dentistry to facilitate optimal results for patients. They have also taken referral colleagues to various programs in Chicago, sponsored by the American Academy of Periodontology that focus on the team approach to dentistry.
As a specialist, Dr. Miller believes in active membership in professional organizations. His affiliations include the American Academy of Periodontology, California Society of Periodontists, Academy of Osseointegration (focused exclusively on dental implants), American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Orange County Dental Society, Newport Harbor Academy of Dentistry, and the Institute for Dental Implant Awareness.
Community and Family
Dr. Miller and his wife, Donna, have been married over twenty-three years and have three children and two grandchildren. In his spare time Dr. Miller enjoys running, fitness, hiking, backpacking, mountain climbing and wine collecting.
