Expertise in Dental Implants

During Dr. William Chan’s 35 year career as an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon, he has been committed to ongoing professional growth through continuing his education in the most contemporary and innovative procedures in implant surgeries. He has long been an advocate of dental implant therapy as one the best possible options for his patients who have experienced the frustrations associated with tooth loss such as changed appearance, altered chewing function (which impacts his patient’s food choices and nutrition), and even the associated social embarrassment that the loss of teeth can sometimes create.

Dr. Chan is a member of the Academy of Osseointegration, a professional association for clinicians who are devoted to professional development in the specialization of dental implant therapy, with emphasis on effective and optimal surgical placement, bone growth techniques and long-term implant stability.

Leadership in the Dental Profession

Since beginning his private Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery practice, Dr. William Chan has also been a Clinical Professor at The University of California at San Francisco for the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, where he has been bestowed with the honor of being recognized as the Outstanding Volunteer Faculty of the Year numerous times.

Dr. Chan has earned the professional level of Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and holds membership in other professional dental surgery organizations such as the Academy of Osseointegration, the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Western Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
