About Dr. Baker
Dr. Baker is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He has been practicing in Oklahoma City for four decades and is an icon in the Oral Surgery community statewide due to his many contributions to the profession. Teaching generations of new surgeons as an Associate Clinical Professor and Chair of the Departement of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Oklahoma, Dr. Baker has influenced the delivery of high quality Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for the benefit of tens of thousands of patients. He has served as chair of the Section of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at St. Anthony's Hospital and Deaconess Hospital and department chair at INTEGRIS Baptist Hospital. He is also on staff at Baptist Medical Center and Summit Hospital.
Upon obtaining his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas, Dr. Baker went on to complete his extensive, post-graduate residency training in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He opened his practice as an Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon in Oklahoma City in 1979, where he has maintained that private practice since that time.
Leadership in the Dental Profession
Committed to the advancement of the specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. Baker has held numerous leadership positions in various professional organizations. He is a past president of the Oklahoma Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Oklahoma Society of Dental Anesthesiology. He also maintains active membership in many other associations and societies, such as the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Society of TMJ Surgeons. Dr. Baker has been honored as a Fellow in the American College of Dentists.
Community and Family
When he is not involved with patient care and professional commitments, Dr. Baker contributes his time to a number of local charities. He has been on the Board of Directors for Rebuilding Together and the Redbud Foundation, among others over the years. He enjoys cycling and running and has competed in numerous marathons. Dr. Baker has two daughters and four grandchildren. He is married to Dr. Melissa Farrow.
