About Dr. Mendenhall
Dr. Jacob Mendenhall was bestowed numerous academic awards while he was a doctoral candidate and he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Oklahoma, College of Dentistry, where he also received a Certificate of Recognition of Distinguished Achievement in Oral Surgery as a Senior Student from the university’s College of Dentistry. After graduating with his doctorate degree at the top of his class, he continued his education by completing his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency, also at the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Mendenhall continued his professional development completing the extensive requirements to become a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon (OMS). He maintains his credentials through completing the association’s professional continuing education requirements each year. Aside from practicing full time as a surgeon in his private practice, Dr. Mendenhall is also an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Oklahoma in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, where he teaches and mentors Residents of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Expertise in Dental Implants
Dr. Mendenhall is an active member of both the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons; both organizations are leading the way in cutting-edge, evidence-based techniques in oral and facial reconstruction, bone regeneration and augmentation, and reconstructive implant therapy, all of which Dr. Mendenhall is passionate about. As a surgeon who provides sedation services for his patients who require those professional services, he maintains an active membership in the American Society of Dental Anesthesiology to stay abreast of the latest advances in science of human sedation.
Community and Family
During his personal time, Dr. Mendenhall can often be found in the saddle. His love of the outdoors and horses led him to develop a passion for the precise and intense sport of horse “cutting”, whereby a rider and horse work synergistically to herd cattle in a very short period of time. He is proud to be actively involved with the National Cutting Horse Association and his riding skills and knowledge of cutting led him to win a cutting championship at the 2013 Kansas Derby. He is also an active member of the International Texas Longhorn Association of America.
