Our mission is to increase public awareness of the benefits of dental implants and the importance of selecting a qualified team of doctors to provide treatment. Our goal is for every patient considering tooth replacement to be able to make an informed decision about their overall health, appearance and well-being. The IDIA is committed to preserving the integrity of implant dentistry by promoting minimum surgical training standards for dentists placing implants. We also believe that it is critical for patients to understand that not all dentists are equally qualified to surgically place dental implants.

Meet Our Advisory Board Members

David B. Anson, DDS

Dr. Anson is former President of the California Society of Periodontists and former President of the Los Angeles Dental Society. He lectures nationally and internationally on various topics related to dental implants. He has also published numerous articles for scientific journals on dental implants and bone augmentation. Dr. Anson’s practice is limited to dental implants, bone augmentation and periodontal procedures.

Aldo Leopardi, BDS, DDS, MS

Dr. Leopardi is a former faculty member of the University of North Carolina, at Chapel Hill and Colorado Health Sciences School of Dentistry. He lectures nationally and internationally on dental implant reconstruction and esthetics and is the founder of The Knowledge Factory. He is actively involved in clinical research related to dental implants. Dr. Leopardi’s practice is limited to dental implants, and fixed and removable Prosthodontics.

Julius Hyatt, DDS

Dr. Hyatt is former President of the Baltimore County Dental Association. He has also served as a board member of the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners and the Northeast Regional Board of Dental Examiners. Dr. Hyatt is currently a member of the Dean’s Faculty at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and has lectured on various aspects of implant dentistry, including guided implant surgery.

John L. Lytle, MD, DDS,

Dr. Lytle is Past President of the California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, as well as an examiner for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also Director of Undergraduate of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Southern California school of Dentistry. Dr. Lytle’s practice provides dental implants, bone augmentation and all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery.

Bruce W. Johnson, DDS

Dr. Johnson lectures nationally and internationally on all aspects of implant dentistry. He has published several clinical manuscripts involving implant dentistry and pain control. Dr. Johnson is a member of the International Team of Implantology. He maintains a practice in Poway, California limited to dental implants, bone augmentation and periodontal plastic surgery.

Clark O. Taylor, MD, DDS

Dr. Taylor has authored numerous articles in scientific journals, as well as chapters for various textbooks. He lectures nationally and internationally on topics related to dental implants, bone grafting and facial cosmetic surgery. Dr. Taylor is former President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. His practice is limited to dental implant procedures, cosmetic surgical procedures and all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Paul M. Korb, DMD

Dr. Korb lectures on various topics related to implant dentistry, including collaboration with Dr. George Priest on the team approach for optimal esthetics. He is an education mentor for Biomet 3i and has also developed numerous educational programs for restorative dentists. Dr. Korb’s practice is limited to dental implants and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is located in greater Atlanta, Georgia.

Stephen L. Wheeler, DDS

Dr. Wheeler lectures nationally and internationally on various topics related to dental implant reconstruction. He has authored numerous articles for scientific journals. Dr. Wheeler is Past President of the Academy of Osseointegration, a multi-disciplinary dental implant organization. He has served as the continuing education chairman for several professional societies. Dr, Wheeler’s practice is limited to dental implants, bone augmentation and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
